MicroZr™ Veneers is a trademark of new dental veneers with micrometric thickness (< 100 micrometers – equivalent to hair thickness). These veneers are much thinner than all other veneers available in the market. These veneers are the most effective way to get a permanent whitening of your teeth.

Value Proposition

MicroZr™ Veneers offer a substantial set of advantages to all interested parties in a healthy, confident, and pleasant smile, either Dentistry doctors or final users.

Advantages

MicroZr™ Veneers surpass in almost all aspects the best properties of all other available options available in the market.

Veneer Thickness

MicroZr™ Veneers are much thinner than all other veneers, including porcelain veneers. The thickness of MicroZr™ Veneers can go less than 100 micrometers (0,1 milimeters) the thickness of a human hair. This is much thinner than all other options available in the market, usually with thicknesses around 0,3 to 0,7 milimeters.

No pre-treatment

MicroZr™ Veneers avoid preliminary tooth preparation. Most of the time and clinical procedures for veneers placement is spent on tooth preparation. You save time, save money, and mainly avoid tooth preparation discomfort.

Wear and toothbrush resistance

Durability of porcelain veneers is at maximum 10 to 15 years (see article). Some of the main reasons for such low durability is wear against the opponent tooth and abrasion due to tooth brushing, among other factors during chewing. MicroZr™ Veneers, due to exceptional wear and abrasion resistance of zirconia (see article and article) allow a lifetime duration of veneers. No need for successive investments in new veneers. No need for appointments for maintenance and polishing. Aesthetics is preserved over time. Moreover, it is well documented that polished zirconia also preserves the opponent tooth causing them less wear than porcelains (see article).

Excellent biological behaviour

Zirconia is documented (see article) to have excellent biological compatibility being used for several other applications namely hip implants due to its superior biological properties. Its reduced bacterial adhesion/colonization properties make this material excellent as regard to adverse effects on gingival health and gum recession.

Very accurate fitting to tooth geometry

MicroZr™ Veneers fit to tooth geometry with fitting errors less than 20 micrometers thus allowing the veneers to fit perfectly to tooth surface and be nearly imperceptible in tooth volume. Proper protocol is needed to tooth geometry acquisition a patented manufacturing technique* is used to obtain high strength and high translucent  micrometric MicroZr™ Veneers.

Natural tooth preservation

non invasive

MicroZr™ Veneers allow preservation of natural tooth including total enamel structure. There is no need to remove, partially or totally, the enamel of the tooth with the eventual exposition of dentine. The natural tooth preservation avoids eventual hot/cold sensitivity due to tooth preparation.

Excellent aesthetics

The incredible small thickness of MicroZr™ Veneers, along with new high translucent zirconia materials, result in the high translucency of zirconia veneers. Gradations of colour, with different natural shades and translucencies can be tailored in each veneer for each tooth aesthetics customization and natural dental tooth appearance. See article and article.

Impact, mechanical and fatigue resistance

Durability of veneers also depends on the mechanical, impact and fatigue resistance. Low impact and fatigue resistance of porcelain veneers are one of the main causes of premature failure of porcelain veneers (see article, article and article). Despite all the care, the impacts of cutlery against teeth are an inevitability. Zirconia used in MicroZr™  Veneers fracture toughness is on average 5 to 10 times higher than that of porcelain veneers (see article).The same order of magnitude is found for mechanical strength, 5 to 10 times more resistant than porcelain veneers. MicroZr™ Veneers high fracture toughness and strength also allow the safe handling of veneers during treatment.

Dual and Light curing cements

Translucency of very thin MicroZr™ Veneers improves transmittance of light in the range of light curing resins wavelength (300 to 500 nanometers) allowing versatility in the choice of using dual and/or light curing cements. See article.

Strong bonding to adhesives

MicroZr™ Veneers are manufactured with an inner pre-treated surface that assures strong bonding to adhesives. Values of shear bonding strength of 60MPa are obtained which provides a strong adhesion to enamel.

MicroZr™ Veneers is a safe and secure investment in your aesthetics.

Improve your aesthetics, make your money highly profitable.

Value Proposition

The extremely thin thickness allows the veneer to have high translucency and optical properties, along with all exceptional properties of zirconia:

  • high strength, durability, impact resistance, wear and toothbrush abrasion resistance;

  • aesthetic appearance preservation;

  • no maintenance procedures and no lifetime limit;

  • exceptional biocompatibility preventing gum recession;

  • non invasive,much faster and pain free clinical treatment with reversible approach possibility;

  • safe handling of the veneers;

  • exceptional accurate geometric details;

  • strong adhesion to cements and much more.

Ultra-thin High Strength

Due to the high potential of zirconia as a biomedical material it has undergone large developments in the last years in order to overcome its biggest limitations namely optical properties and bonding to resins.

Due to these research investments, zirconia is becoming as the material of excellence for dental applications. This is due to the set of properties that this material has in terms of aesthetics, mechanical resistance, wear and abrasion resistance, biocompatibility, ease of manufacture, biological and mechanical stability, adhesion,
among others. Moreover, notwithstanding the previous properties zirconia has still a large margin for improvements either in terms of optical properties or mechanical and fatigue properties, among others.

Due to these circumstances zirconia is expected to increasingly become the material with the highest potential to fulfil the needs of many dental applications such as implants, veneers, bridges and prostheses.
