MicroPk™
Pediatric Crowns
MicroPk™ Therapeutic pediatric crowns is a trademark of very thin, white, and flexible pediatric customized crowns, for children's posterior teeth. Their incredibly low thickness allow placement of up to eigth crowns in one single appointment, without any visible occlusion.
Value Proposition

MicroPk™ pediatric crowns allows, for the first time in the history of pediatric dentistry, treatment of children's caries by using the Hall technique, thus maximizing the best interests of both children, dentist doctor's, and parents, thus becoming a revolutionary solution in pediatric dentistry.

Advantages
The surprising combination of properties of MicroPk™ pediatric crowns allow treatment of children's dental caries with an aesthetic solution, no anesthesia and pain, quick application of multiple crowns in a single appointment with nearly no oclusion, among other advantages.

Crown Thickness
MicroPk™ pediatric crowns are thinner than all other crowns, including SS or zirconia crowns. The thickness of MicroPk™ crowns can go less than 100 micrometers (0,1 milimeters) the thickness of a human hair. This is much thinner than all other options available in the market, and allow for no occlusion after crowns placement.
No pre-treatment – no anesthesia – no pain
MicroPk™ pediatric crowns completely avoid preliminary tooth preparation. No tooth preparation means that anesthesia is not needed and pain is completely avoided. Save time, save money, and main of all avoid discomfort of tooth preparation.
Wear and toothbrush resistance
Durability of MicroPk™ pediatric crowns is at least 10 years, and almost twice wear resistant than SS crowns. As long as correct placement protocol is followed, durability is not an issue. Aesthetics is also preserved over time
Excellent biological behaviour
MicroPk™ crowns have excellent biological compatibility and anti-bacterial behaviour, similar or superior to SS crowns. Its reduced bacterial adhesion/colonization properties make this material excellent as regard to adverse effects on gingival health and gum recession.
Very accurate fitting to tooth geometry
MicroPk™ pediatric crowns fit to tooth geometry with fitting errors less than 50 micrometers thus allowing the crowns to fit perfectly to tooth surface and be nearly imperceptible in tooth volume. This allow for nearly no occlusion, even when several crowns (up to eight) are applied in the same appointment.
One appointment - several crowns
One of the great advantages of MicroPk™ pediatric crowns is that they offer the possibility of placing several crowns (up to eight) in a single appointment, with virtually no observable occlusion. This results from several other advantages of these crowns such as their low thickness, their flexibility, and their customization to the patient's teeth. Save money, save time.
Natural tooth preservation
non invasive
MicroPk™ pediatric crowns allow preservation of natural tooth including total enamel structure. There is no need to remove, partially or totally, the enamel of the tooth with the eventual exposition of dentine. The natural tooth preservation avoids eventual hot/cold sensitivity due to tooth preparation.
Excellent aesthetics
MicroPk™ pediatric crowns are white in color being then more aesthetical than SS metallic color. Although not completely matching the natural tooth color MicroPk™ therapeutic pediatric crowns have much a pleasant appearance.
Impact, mechanical and fatigue resistance
Durability of crowns depend also on their mechanical, impact and fatigue resistance. MicroPk™ pediatric crowns are very resistant with almost illimited duration, in normal children, as long as proper placement protocol is followed.
Crown Flexibility
MicroPk™ pediatric crowns are made of a flexible material fitting the tooth as a glove. Besides being customized, the crown deforms to enter the tooth anatomical equator, and reshape to fit the tooth geometry like a glove.
Strong bonding to adhesives
MicroPk™ pediatric crowns are manufactured with an inner pre-treated surface that assures strong bonding to some adhesives. Values of shear bonding strength of 30MPa are obtained which provides a strong adhesion to enamel. The choice of the adhesive is very important on MicroPk™ crowns adhesion.
